Musical Sketchbook

A scrap of melody caught on a gorse thorn

Alpha. It runs, with rough edges.

Catch a tune before it’s gone: one tap records what you sing, hum or play, and you add a word for how it felt.

What it is

Ideas arrive at awkward moments. Musical Sketchbook is built to catch them: open it, tap once, and it’s recording. Afterwards you can add a word for how the fragment felt: restless, warm, arriving.

The aim is to find fragments again by their feeling, which is how you remember them, rather than by key, tempo or date.

Who it’s for

Anyone who makes music and has a phone full of voice memos they can never find again.

How far along it is

On iPhone it records, takes a tag and plays back, and everything stays on the phone. Finding fragments again by how they felt is the next part.

How to get it

Not available yet. It goes to testers first, through Apple’s TestFlight.
