Little & Often: privacy policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026. This applies to version 0.1 of the app.
The short version
Little & Often collects nothing. Everything the app keeps stays on your device. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, and the app does not use the internet at all.
What the app keeps on your device
- Names, if a grown-up types any. Names are optional: a learner with no name is shown as “Learner 1”.
- Each learner’s practice record: which items they have met (each musical interval, for example), how well they know each one, the days they practised, and how many practices they have done.
- Two settings: how many questions are in a practice, and how many practices are allowed in a day.
That is all. There are no accounts, no email addresses and no passwords.
Where it is kept
In the app’s own storage on your device. We cannot see it.
If you back up your device, to iCloud or to a computer, the app’s data is part of that backup like any other app’s. That backup is yours and is covered by Apple’s terms, not ours.
What the app does not do
- It makes no connection to the internet. There are no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no code from other companies.
- It does not use the microphone, the camera, your location, your contacts or your photos. It only plays sounds.
- It sends no notifications.
- Nothing is for sale in this version, and the app does not contact the App Store.
Sharing progress as a file
A grown-up can share a progress file from the grown-ups area. That area is behind a check meant for adults: reading a number written in words and typing it in digits. The file is a spreadsheet (CSV) listing each learner’s name, the days and number of practices, and their level on each item.
The file goes only where you send it, through your device’s own share sheet. Once you have sent it somewhere, what happens to it is up to you and whoever receives it.
While you are sharing, the app holds one copy of that file on the device. It is deleted the next time the app starts, and straight away if you remove a learner.
Deleting
- One learner: in the grown-ups area, under Learners, tap the remove button beside their name. Their name and progress are deleted from the app.
- Everything: delete the app. Everything it keeps on the device goes with it.
Two things to know:
- A backup your device made earlier may still hold the data until a newer backup replaces it. You manage backups in your device’s Settings.
- If the app ever finds its saved file damaged, it sets the damaged file aside on the device, so that nothing is lost by accident, and keeps at most three. A file set aside before you removed a learner could still hold that learner. These files never leave the device and are deleted with the app.
Children
The app is made for children to use with a parent or teacher. Because nothing leaves the device, we hold no information about any child, and there is nothing for us to share, sell or lose.
What Apple may tell us
Apple gives every developer overall figures, such as how many times an app has been downloaded. If you have chosen in your device’s Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may also pass on crash reports. Neither identifies you, and the app adds nothing to them.
The app writes short technical messages, such as “Could not save”, to your device’s own system log. They contain no names and no progress, and they stay on the device.
If this changes
If a later version changes what the app keeps or what it does with it, this page will be updated first and the date at the top will change.
